French Chicks Were Rockin' With Tony Roi
My name is Rowena Parks. I live in Arlington, Texas. I've been
coming to Branson eight
years and have seen many of the shows through the years. I didn't
know what I had been missing until I saw Tony Roi's show in
November 2005. I went to his show expecting another hum, drum
"Elvis" impersonator, but was I ever surprised! I was totally
infatuated with his marvelous impersonation of Elvis Presley, "The
King of Rock and Roll", whose music I have always loved.
I think Elvis would of been very
pleased with Tony's rendition of him. He even looks like him.
Soooo handsome and sexy! I felt as though I was transported back to
1969 when I saw my only live concert of Elvis. I don't think I will
ever forget it!
I have seen many Elvis impersonators and even attended the
annual week long celebration of Elvis's life in Memphis, Tn. last
summer. There were hundreds of impersonators vying to be chosen as
the "Best Elvis Impersonator in the World".
I must say, there was not a one
that could do the job any better than Tony Roi!! Including the
person who won the title. But Tony Roi doesn't need to prove himself
as the best, because he is already.
Tony performs every show with the same energy each and every time,
which is totally amazing! You can't stay still with his terrific
voice, body moves and dancing, his very talented backup singers, the
"Angels", and his great band!!!
Tony Roi comes across
as loving what he does and sincerely appreciates his audiences and
fans and gives you the best performance he can.
Granted he sounds just like Elvis , has his same mannerisms and in
fact, has him down to an art. However, Tony has a strong, powerful
and most appealing voice of his own. I have all of his tapes and
their all great. I adore "Hand in Hand", which I play all the time.
Two of my favorites are "Hand in Hand" and "Back on the Road Again".
The Latin one is very good
too, even though I don't speak Spanish. I seriously want to learn it
even if it's just to know the words that he sings. Spanish is
known it as the language of love! Some of the songs are so
romantic and stimulating....!!
Two of my sisters, a niece and I go to Branson two or three times a
year. As often as we can. We were there in March this year also. We
saw Tony's show three times. Would of seen more but we had to come
back to Texas. Each show was as good as the first. We gave ourselves
our own unique name, the "Texas French Chicks". Ha! Tony may recall
us.
We were/are the wild and crazy, for
him, gals from Texas. Each of us bought these large, (12"x16") gold
purses, that originally held nine pictures of Elvis, which we
replaced with pictures we had made of Tony from previous shows. We
had him sign the backs of them. He said he was honored and
appreciated our support.
I have joined Tony's "Fan Club" since then. My niece, Judy, (who by
the way is only a year younger than me Ha! Ha!), is also a member,
and I came to Branson again for 5 days, 5/26-5/30. We came first of
all to see Tony again. And we did see his show every day except
Sunday, ( only because he wasn't performing).
Every show was excellent,
especially Saturdays show. The whole place was Rockin! We also
came to attend "Fan Day", which was great fun! We met and visited
with the other members, sharing a lot of stories and laughs. All
great fun loving ladies. We shared the same views and praises
concerning Tony and the whole show. And all had one thing in common,
"We all adore Tony"!!!
I've been spreading Tony's name all over Texas. I tell everyone I
know, and don't know, that they need to take a trip to Branson and
see Tony Roi's show if they want to be thoroughly
entertained. I definitely vote Tony Roi as the "Best Entertainer and
his Show" the best in Branson. Branson is fortunate to have such a
talented man. He is the main reason we keep returning. It's only a
10 hour drive for us, (one way). Ha! Ha! But, he is worth every
minute of it. We Love Tony !!!
