The sixties!! The seventies!! “GET BACK” to where YOU once belonged - and see the LIVERPOOL LEGENDS at the Caravelle Theatre in Branson, MO!!
For those of us who remember sitting in front of a black and white television set on a Sunday night in 1964 – watching the first appearance of The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show – the Liverpool Legends will take you back to that very night! Who could forget when Ed announced, “The Beatles!” The curtain opened, screams went up – beyond even the Elvis Presley scream-o-meter – and John, Paul, George and Ringo first played and sang their way into every American teenage girl’s heart with “All My Lovin’,” “Till There Was You,” “She Loves You” and “I Wanna Hold Your Hand.”
Yes, I was there in front of that television – an “early” Beatle fan – and the first time I saw the Liverpool Legends, I sat motionless with my jaw dropped open. The nostalgia that swept through me was unbelievable and the realism of these phenomenal musicians/singers was almost too much for me to take in – they had the same appearance, persona, harmony and musical talent of the original Fab Four. Right before my eyes, there they were!
As soon as I realized how extremely talented these guys were, all I could do was smile, sing along, and enjoy every second they were onstage! This band brings smiles to everyone in attendance and I know mine lasts for days afterward whenever I think of their great performances. I truly admire their many talents, whether it is their singing, joking around or their amazing musical expertise playing the many different instruments. I am especially astounded by the fantastic Beatle sounds they are able to replicate on their vintage guitars. They are such tremendous entertainers you have to see and hear them for yourself to believe it. Ok, in case you are wondering, I admit I scream a little! Hey, it’s part of the realism and fun, and besides, I think the guys love it!
Beatle fans from all over the country have commented on the realism of the Liverpool Legends and the phenomenal talents that Kevin (John), Davey (Paul), Marty (George), and Greg (Ringo) possess. They were all “handpicked” by Louise Harrison, George’s real-life sister! So, of course, they look like the real thing, sound like the real thing and even act like the real thing, and they are absolutely the most talented representation of The Beatles since - The Beatles!!
So let the Liverpool Legends take you back to where YOU once belonged! If you are too young to remember that very special space in time, you are still in for a great experience. Instead of re-discovering the music of The Beatles, you will discover a whole new perspective of where great rock ‘n’ roll bands started. You’ll get a glimpse of the 1964 “British Invasion,” which then produced the wild fan frenzy called “Beatlemania.” You too will come away with a smile on your face and ready to tell all of your friends about the Liverpool Legends!
After the show, be sure and take the opportunity to meet and greet Louise and each member of the cast, get autographs, pictures or even a hug or two. I’m sure you – like me – will want to return again and again and again. Also, I hope that you will hurry home and take the time to write your review of their show and send them in to bransoncritic.com. We’d love to read your comments and maybe you have some Beatle memories to share with us, too!!
