Magnificent 7pm - Simply MagnificentNovember 9, 2005 While planning our annual trip to Branson, I decided to get on the Internet to see if I could find a show to go to that we had not previously seen. While searching, I was fortunate enough to come across a Branson Message Board at getawaysaver.com. The people on this message board very helpful with everything from lodging to shows! One show that was recommended by several people was the Magnificent 7 at The White House Theater so we decided to buy tickets for it.
While making reservations, we were informed that dinner was an option at this show for $4.95 with the purchase of a full price ticket. What a bargain! We arrived at the theater at 5:30pm to pick up our tickets and have dinner. The theater is beautiful! We enjoyed looking at the pictures of all of the Presidents and we did some shopping in the gift shop (The prices were very good!). For dinner, I had the chicken and my husband had the steak. The steak was a little over-cooked but my chicken was great. We both thought this was the best meal we had ever had for the price. After dinner, we were seated in the theater in some very roomy and comfortable seats. The show started at 7:00pm (we later learned that is why the show is named the Magnificent 7) with a singing and dancing number from the whole cast. Then, each of the headliners, Amanda, Joe Tennoco and Tamira Tennoco did an individual number. We had seen Amanda’s billboards around town and had been told that she was very talented but we had no idea how truly talented she is! All three of the headliners were great but Amanda just stood out. We would have liked to have seen more of her! The first half of the show was a variety of music from country to Latin to some group numbers. By the end of the first half, we thought this was the best show we had ever seen in Branson! The second half of the show was Christmas. There were some very good segments in this half. Our favorites included a very cute toy segment where the toys seem to come to life, a beautiful rendition of Mary Did You Know by Amanda, a rapping Santa Claus number and they ended with the whole cast doing O Holy Night. Our only criticism of this part of the show is that they did an extremely long a capella section. We lost some interest during this part of the show (my husband actually dozed through this part until I elbowed him in the ribs!). I noticed many of the audience fidgeting during this part. This show has an incredible band and it seemed a shame not to use them.
Even with our critique of this part of the show, we would highly
recommend it to everyone!
