Kurt Moore - Hello From Fl

December 24, 2005

Hello one and all and Merry Christmas from southern Florida.

I know you have not heard from me for quite a spell, and that is due to the fact that Wilma packed much more of a punch than anyone expected. Where I am living, in Okeechobee, Florida, winds were clocked at 159 MPH. I have no idea who clocked those winds, but I would think the clock was probably blown into the ocean.

The news media dropped Wilma like a hot potato. The country had already had two solid months of Katrina and was sick of storms. So even people in central Florida have no idea what actually happened to their south. I have seen more damage with Wilma than with any other storm I have ever worked and the number of claims proves me out. I have literally been working day and night to get the claims settled. Since September first, I have taken three days off and slept during one of them.

I will be here for the duration and that means working through Christmas to get as many people aided as earthly possible.

Again, I am sorry that I have not been able to write anything like the journals I scraped together during Katrina, but there has simply been no time to do so. Each of you is special to me and I appreciate your patience as I am winding down Florida’s roads each day searching for truth, light and the American way. Boy, that last line sure sounded good, didn’t it. Thought I would throw it in to see if you are really paying attention.

I have heard from many of you from time to time and have responded as I could. I especially enjoy the personal letters I have gotten from all across the country.

So I, as you, will hang my stocking by the chimney with great care. You have to realize that southern Florida does not have a great many chimneys, so my chance of hanging a stocking on one is pretty much moot. Santa as most of you, has no earthly idea where I am this year anyway.

However, the real reason for the season, Jesus, knows exactly where I am and that is all I need. How about you?

Now, for those of you who might have a left-over Christmas card, or a Christmas care package, my address is: Kurt L. Moore-

60 Linda Road

Okeechobee, Florida 34974

Try saying Okeechobee three times fast.

To each and every one of you, I wish you the most loving, warmest and Merriest Christmas ever.

Kurt-
