New South is the best quartet in Branson. They have the most amazing harmonies and Mark McCauley is the best bass singer in Branson. We have seen New South 3 years in a row and 5 performances. Their live radio show on Friday nights is a great idea.

Great great show!! Paul Revere is amazing....he is so full of energy!! Great laughs and great music. Good to see them "play" their songs and not just hear a soundtrack in the back. Bill Medley does a fabulous job too. This show is a must see!!! You won't get any better than this....they are truly legends and put on a great show and afterwards you can meet them in the lobby.

Broadway: Great show, good to see Merrill Osmond sing some great Broadway tunes. I think he has found his niche. This show is worth seeing. Do take the time to make sure on your travels to Branson that you see this show!! You won't be disappointed.

Well I'm pleased to say that Kirby and his show hasn't lost any edge. No hand puppets or singing from this guy, just great magic and showmanship!

2-11-06 I just wanted to say that the site looks great. I will forever love Branson. I was an evacuee who came to Branson during Hurricane Rita. I was so impressed with the wonderful people. I continue to view this site.

Keep it up you guys! Good Job.

I was so sorry when Mel Tillis sold his theater, but I guess he was tired of doing so many shows a year there, so he decided to go on the road again, although I understand that he will be back in Branson this fall at The Tri-Lakes-Center, formerly his theater. I hope he does, it was one of the best shows in Branson especially at Christmas, when most of his family and grandchildren performed on his Christmas Show. I miss that most of all. Branson has some good shows, The Baldknobbers is one of my favorites and think how long they have been in Branson. A FAN OF MEL'S

Circle B Chuckwagon - Thoroughly impressed. Loved the prayer before the meal. Too many people are afraid to do that these days. Showed love of family, love of country and love of the Lord. Not one bad moment. -Sharon Garrison

I saw this movie (the forecast) as it had a special private presentation at the Legends theater Thursday night for friends and family. Justin Clark (aka Elwood Blues) plays the snot nosed brat of a newscaster that thinks Mort is some weirdo. Stacy (aka Shania Twain and Marilyn Monroe) plays a sweet co worker of Mort that is a supportive friend throughout this movie. The film has many Branson celebs such as Nedra Culp (nominated for Best Singer for the Branson Critic award) she plays a very sassy police Lt.
There is a few cuss words and it is billed as a thriller but nothing too scary for those that get freaked out over scary movies (like myself). This movie will keep your heart pounding and the ending will knock your socks off. I am so proud of Bucky and Justin for working so hard for the past 2 years on this project- they are examples that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Bravo! Saw show 11-30-05 and enjoyed the great songs by the two ladies. Peter performed some great magic tricks?? Have the CD we bought in the car and great songs on it. Thanks ladies. Tom & Lahoma

We have been to Branson several times and have always seen this show. Although a small show, not available through ticket companies, it is one of the best we have seen. The performer, Cody, does the most fantastic job of recreating the voices of Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, and many others.(Even John Conlee, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson. The best selection of country music and In my opinion, the best voice in Branson. Performs at the Fall Creek Resort.
If you are a classic country music fan, you must find this show.

Tony & Doug

I was so thrilled to see that Tony Roi finally got the recognition that he deserves.  I was Elvis's #1 fan and never would even look at imitators.  But Tony is not just an imitator.  Tony has the charisma and magic that Elvis had.
I was disappointed that Doug Gabriel did not receive any awards this year.  I know that year after year, Doug has been consistent in winning best singer, best performer and best show, so it seems it should be someone else's turn.  But, hey!  When you are the best, you don't need to strive to be better.  Doug and Cheryl will always be the greatest in my book.  So, congratulations to all the winners and next year will be bigger and better than ever.

Tony & Doug's #1 fan,
Jean Harris

Tony

It would be fantastic if Tony's award could be presented Monday, November 14 show.  I know he has several fan club member attending that night.  Hint, hint!! -Linda Turner

Great job critic on 2005 awards. How about a morning show of the year award on your 2006 Branson critic awards. We feel morning shows are often Branson's best kept secret. Thank You.

Merrill

I went to see this show a few months ago and was very impressed with it! The band is phenomenal and Merrill is a great entertainer. He sang some songs that I never dreamed he would do. From a little bit country to Tom Jones songs, it is unbelievable. Kudos to Merrill and his great band!!! -Nelia Heggen

The Voice of Magic with Darren Romeo

My son has encouraged me to write this review, and I have to admit that I am not a writer.  He said that it was important to support the good performers and show that I saw in Branson.

One of the shows I saw this summer was The Voice of Magic with Darren Romeo.  My son took me to see the Darren Romeo show this past summer and I am glad that he did.  I would not normally go to this type of show.  I do not usually watch magic shows.  But he paid so I went and I though the show was great.  Just like always I had no idea how he did those tricks.  That is why I do not go to magic shows; I can’t ever figure them out.  Not only could Darren do magic but he could also sing very well.  I was glade we went to see this show.

Another show that I also really liked was the Circle B Chuckwagon.  The family was so nice and had a great chemistry.  They do it all.  They took up tickets and seated us, served our dinner and then put on one heck of a great show.  The food was also.

I also liked the Cirque.  It was very different and I have never seen anything like it anywhere.  It was eye-poping and always something unique to see.  The acrobats and signer were great. -Audrey Hawkins

Paul Harris

Is there anything we, his fans, can do to stop the move? Can't imagine a Branson without Paul Harris!! We love him! Why would he even consider leaving? Bigger isn't always better & he's a "Branson" type of guy--not Nashville.

Branson Underground's Friday Night Live Cabaret

Finally, a show for the rest of us!  The Branson Underground's Friday Night Live Cabaret is a fun, hip weekly revue performed by many of Branson's best but unsung entertainers.  No headliners here, just the incredibly talented entertainers who often go unnoticed because the theatre isn't named after them.  Each week is a different show, and we get a little bit of everything, from Broadway to country, from comedy and magic to opera and Shakespeare.  Kudos to the Nova Live theatre for having the brains, the heart and the courage to bring a show like the Friday Night Live cabaret to Branson!  The Branson Underground Friday Night Live Cabaret plays every Friday night at 11:15pm, at the Nova Live Theatre, on Highway 76, across from Starbucks.  Tickets are $5 for locals/entertainers, $10 general admission. -Christophe Leavy

Terry Sanders

I have been coming to Branson on vacation for fifteen years. Terry Sanders is one of the funniest, most creative, entertainers I have ever seen and I make sure I see him whenever I am in town. This guy never tires of creating ways to make my friends and I laugh! -Lori Zanni

Tony

Tony is by far the greatest entertainer in Branson. His voice is unbelievable and he gives his all at every show. On top of that he has a huge heart and truly cares about all of his fans. His band is very talented as well.  -Natalie

Bob Anderson

I would love to vote for best singer, best performer etc. but the person I would like to vote for isn't in contention....namely, Bob Anderson.  He was the best out of the 6 shows we saw in Branson.  I can't believe he isn't in the running.  BIG MISTAKE.  Some of the shows are a 3 or 4 and Bob is a l0!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Alice

I just read the review of the Chuck Wagon Gang performance in Branson. Great article - the only thing is, the writer of "I'll Fly Away", is ALBERT E. Brumley, Sr., not Alfred. I work for Albert E. Brumley & Sons. Thanks! -Sharon Boles, GM/CFO

Bucky Heard

I think Bucky Heard is a class by himself, he can go from Jake to John Cougar and never miss a step. Bucky was gteat with 50's At The Hop and has only gotten better with age. If you have never seen Bucky on stage, you have missed one of the most unique voices in Branson! -Danny Clark

Tony

I have been to see Tony Roi's show at least 12 times this year. I took my 86 year old mother-in-law and she was in awe of him. He has such a fantastic voice, but also his personality reflects a very kind, humble man. His whole performance and his back up singers, and band are such a great tribute to Elvis and his music. I just keep going back and taking people from my office and my husband's office, and then they can't wait to go back and take their family and friends. It's the kind of show that you want to see again and again. -Fran C. Tulsa Ok

Homer Lee

I have been visiting Branson with my family since I was 5 yrs old. I love
it there. My Grandpartents take our whole family every two years (all 11 of
us). We have a blast. The years that we all don't go my husband and I go at
Christmas time and it is wonderful. I want to say it is a great place for
families and couples alike. I'm 24 and I enjoy going as much now as I did
when I was 5. Homer Lee is our favorite person there. We love him like
family. Thanks for all the fun and memories we will have for a lifetime. -Brandy Creasy

The Dutton's

I went and saw The Dutton's with some friends from church and I was truly
amazed. It was the first show I have seen in Branson and I am truly happy I
did attend They were astounding from beginning to end I will surely see
them again and tell all my friends about them. -Kyle Amerpohl

Happy Banana

Hi!  We're frequent visitors of Branson.  It's only about a 4 hour drive and the best bargain around.  Last fall, our usual favorite was doing a private gig so we went in search of other entertainment for an early Friday night.  Our quest landed us at (the now defunked) Happy Banana.  I don't know who the fellas were that were playing but they were very good.  One guy at long blonde hair and the other had much shorter hair.  They played 90's and current rock and pop music (oasis - ACDC, etc).  If you happen to know who I'm talking about, I sure would be interested in seeing them perform again.  We'll be coming back down around October 7.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. -Thanks Pam G

"I've seen 4 show's in Branson this year. I saw Dixie Stampede, Magnifcent 7 (White House Theatre, Presley's Jubilee, & Stuck on the 70's. Stuck on the 70's is the best show I've seen this year. I really enjoyed it. It brought memories to me when I was a kid in the 70's. I like Presley's & Magnificent 7 (White House Theater) to. I was disappointed with Dixie Stampede."
-Traci, Missouri, 11 Sep 2005

Magnificent 7-

"I have seen many shows there in Branson and I never miss seeing the WHITEHOUSE theater as we think it is the very BEST SHOW in Branson. I do miss Josh and some of the others that were there, however the new cast of the Magnificent Seven still remains the best. I always look forward to seeing the show and We always eat there at the theater. The price is right also. The newest member of the show, Talya, I am sure, will grow up to be a great attraction to the show."

- Goldie L., Independence, Missouri, 11 Sep 2005

Grand Country Jubilee-

"My family and I love Branson, we go there every year for vacation. Our favorite show is The Grand Country Jubilee. Not only do they have a wonderful quartet called the New South, they have a most amazingly funny comedian, Terry "Homer Lee" Sanders". They also have different styles of music, you can tell they love what they are doing. They also have good seating. The performers all interact with the audience, so you feel you are a part of the show. We will go to The Grand Country Jubilee show every year!! This show is a must see!!!!"

-Sincerely, Dara L., Okemah, Oklahoma, 9 Sep 2005

Elvis Experience w/ Tony Roi-

"This is the second year in succession that I have seen Toni - Not only is he the "KING" but a "GENTLEMAN" also. He makes you forget the year is 2005 and bring you deeply into the 1950. I don't know if I will be able to make to Branson next year to stay but you can be sure I will stop and make enough time in my schedule to see at least one of his show."
-Phyllis A., Philadelphia, Pa, 8 Sep 2005

Grand Country Jubilee-

"Terry Sanders is an amazing comedian who has yet to be discovered on the national scene. Each year, I wait to see if one of the major networks has picked him to star in a sitcom. His many characters will make you laugh and bring a smile to your face. Terry Sanders is down to earth and a true family man and entertainer. I'm deeply proud of his accomplishments as an actor. I send my highest regards to a truly talented comedian. You're one of a kind Terry!"

Lost in the 50's 7 Mickey Gilley-

"First visit ever to Branson and it will not be my last one....went to see Lost in the 50's and what an awesome show.....also went to see Mickey Gilley and wow...he is such a great entertainer....would recommend his show to everyone ....Mickey Gilley is such a nice man and down to earth....I asked him to sign my jeans and hat ....he got me to go back stage and he signed both for me...let me tell you I was on cloud nine and still am....also Joey Riley was great...what a good comedian....he had me laughing so hard....can't wait to go back to Branson...will be sure to see Mickey Gilley again...."
-Pauline, Ontario Canada, 07 Sep 2005

Grand Country Jubilee-

"Terry Sanders is the funniest most committed entertainer in Branson! He is the only person I know that an bring hysterical laughter from a crowd with his fantastic imitations and physical humor He is well known by so many of our visitors, they recognize him no matter in what setting he is in. He is always warm and cordial to is fans and everyone appreciates him as person and a real human being. He always find time in his busy schedule to help others in times of need. Along with being the finest comedian in Branson, he also the greatest humanitarian in Branson. Branson simply would not be Branson without Terry and all his "friends.""

Branson Belle-

We took our daughter and son in-law to the Branson Belle Sunday August 14th and although we have been there two other times, this was by far the best show we have ever seen in Branson. The food was very good and served in a timely manner.

The staff was very efficient and was very friendly. The show was terrific. I don't remember the names of the entertainers but there was a young comedian that was out of this world. We laughed so hard that we cried. And there was a young couple that were acrobats. Everything they did was so beautiful. The band and the vocal group was just superb. It was such a high energy show. Each part of the program was better than the last. It was worth every penny we spent on the tickets. You just can't miss this show. JH

World Famous Platters-

My favorites are the world famous platters !there harmony will have you dancing in your chairs if they would let you...lol.  I personally have met Damon and have to say it is a sad time for me to know he wont be there the next time I go to Branson his funny ways, jokes and way of clowning I will miss every time I look at the stage.

But like they say the show must go on he will always be in my memory and I have lots of pictures to remember Damon by. I loved when he did the song remember when that's one of my favorites. The new addition to the platters is wonderful and they doing a fantastic job, a marvelous show don't miss it !!!   -Miss Kitty

The Great American Songbook

Carol Lawrence and Ed Ames performed a wonderful show, and both are still as talented today as they were in earlier years. The six dancers and singers in the show also did a marvelous job. They tell the history of the music and performed the beautiful songs in Song and Dance. Beautiful costumes add to the beauty of the whole show experience. This is a show you could watch over and over again! I was wishing they had a video for sale to share with all my friends near and far, but at this time there were none available.

I would recommend this show to all people you love and appreciate our musical history.

this was our 4th year coming to Branson and we have enjoyed every one. especially Joey riley. he is a very talented and funny young man. a trip to Branson just wouldn't be complete without him. another show we really enjoyed was the Jim reeves review, with his nephew. I couldn't believe the small crowd that was there.

- I have read your comments about The Lost Seventies Show, these are obviously from last year (emailed to me from a very good friend). I've read how you enjoyed the acoustic part and complemented the lead guitar player Greg Morton... Who is fantastic; it happens to be my favorite part of the show too. Bobby Hamilton and Greg Morton have a great chemistry. I agree, I
would have paid to just watch Greg Morton for 2 or 3 hours also. (None of the cast are playing the guitar during that segment and I'm sure you figured that out.)

I would like to point out that you failed to include Greg Morton's name when you wrote about the Americana Band, who the members are and the instrument they played. Greg Morton was not mentioned, he is a FANTASTIC guitar player. I feel Branson is very blessed to have someone with his talent performing here and he should not be overlooked.

The band is a class act, Greg Morton brings allot of that to this Band.

The Lost in The Fifties and The Stuck in The Seventies Show now has the same band at the Starlite Theater. Both of the shows are wonderful. Excellent band and great cast.

Thank you for your wonderful website!
Sincerely,

Chern Valerio

We just returned from a visit to Branson and I would recommend two shows we saw that area not as highly advertised and well known as some of the others. We saw DELENE - awesome voice! She performed hits from Mama Cass, Karen Carpenter, Anne Murray, and Patsy Cline. Although the audience was small, she belted those songs out in a wholehearted way --thoroughly enjoyable! We also went to the Roy Rogers/Dale Evans Museum and saw the music show performed by Roy Rogers Jr. (Dusty) and his group. He has a great voice and kept us entertained with cowboy songs and anedotes about his mom and dad. The museum was interesting and even had its own "theatre" that ran clips from Roy Rogers' movies.

The best show in Branson is Mickey Gilley. He is so warm and welcoming it

I recently attended a new magic show at the Branson Mall. It was the Magic
Of Taylor Reed. It isn't as big of a production as the other magicians
given it's location but the energy and entertainment it provided was great!
It is a 9:30 morning show and only lasts one hour. He really involves the
audience alot and has some great tricks. Could you please add this show to
the list so I can write a review? It deserves to be recognized.

We just got back from Branson today. We went and saw a new show called
Peter the Adequate. He is in the historic downtown Branson in the Old Owens
Theatre. We really enjoyed it. He is so personable and it was a fun show.
He doesn't have all the lights and dancing girls to take away from the
show. It is Peter and his magic. Was a really enjoyable show. We also
went and saw The Justin Flum magic show. It was also very nice. The kids
were disappointed because they make a big deal about his duck in the show
and the duck is in one act and that is it. Also, the kids thought there
was to much dancing with his assistant. They are 9 and 12 and said Peter's
was the one they enjoyed more. They both were fun shows. We went to the
Magnificent 7 show with dinner. It is worth every penny. For $5.00 more
you get a Wonderful Wonderful meal. It is worth paying that few extra
dollars.

I did not find anywhere that you mentioned the Paul Harris Show. I recently

after seeing Paul Harris, I can say that Sienfeld is not even in the same
league. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to pass on this observation.

I was also disappointed with the Ray Stevens show. Not enough
entertainment. Off color jokes, he does not finish songs...thinks he is
cute, but he is not. Believe me, you can see a better show in Branson, many
others to choose from...very unhappy with the whole show.

I read in a review of Grand Jubilee where one man said that Trey stood out
and didn't look like part of the group. Well I must differ. The only part
Trey stands out on is during his nerd scenes and I know that the producer
asked him to do so. If I remember correctly Mark does some of his own
comedy during Jackson Five and Motown. So I think they all stand out in
their own way. Jimmy is constantly bouncing around and moving more than
anyone one else. I believe they do what they are asked to do and if the
producer thought they stood out too much he would personally tell them to
tone it down. Take it from someone who knows.

We LOVED Cirque in Branson, but HATED the fact that you could not get any
pictures. Other than the group picture in the lobby, there were no other
pics to show others how great it was. You couldn't even find a postcard of
anything in the gift shop! We wanted some pics for our scrapbook.
