
The Grand Ole Opry’s Charlie Louvin returns to the Gene Williams
stage as the guest star on this week’s Lucas Oil sponsored "Gene
Williams Country Television Show."
"Charlie is a two-time Grammy Award winner, a member for five
decades of the Grand Ole Opry and a member of the Country Music Hall
of Fame. His music is classic country and as great today as it
always has been," said Williams whose original television show is
telecast to more than 20.5 million homes nationwide.
The star and creator of the television show that is taped in
Branson, Mo. began the "Gene Williams Show" in 1963 in Arkansas.
Today it is taped live before a studio audience in Branson, Mo., at
the Ain’t Misbehavin’ Theatre. A National Telly Award winner, the
"Gene Williams Show" features celebrity guest stars performing with
his band, the eight-piece Country Junction Band, and in
up-close-and-personal interviews conducted by Williams and his
co-host Katie Lynn. The show with Louvin will be televised on
Saturday, Oct. 29, and Sunday, Oct. 30.

The next taping of the "Gene Williams Country Music Television Show"
will be at Ain’t Misbehavin’ at 625 Hwy. 165, on Sunday, Nov. 6, at
2 p.m. Among the scheduled guests are Grand Ole Opry star Jean
Shepard, Buck Trent "Oh, yeah" and John Wain, the nation’s premier
John Wayne impersonator. Admission is free to those who wish to be
part of the studio audience for the three half-hour shows. Doors to

Gene Williams recently announced his Christmas gift giveaway for his
viewers. The trip includes three days and two nights in Branson at
the beautiful Green Mountain Inn (1 double for 2 people), dining at
the World’s Largest Golden Corral, seeing a total of six shows and
attractions selected by Gene Williams and $100 cash for gasoline. To

in a drawing," said Williams who began his career in the country
music field as a DJ in Memphis on KWAM in 1957 and was named 1961
Grand Ole Opry DJ of the Year. He made two movies about country
music which featured more than 39 Grand Ole Opry stars including Ray
Price, Carl Smith, Jordanaires, Kitty Wells, Little Jimmy Dickens,
Grand Ole Opry Square Dancers and the late Marty Robbins, Webb
Pierce, Ernest Tubb, June Carter, Bill Monroe, Duke of Paducah and
Faron Young.
Williams is an inductee to the Memphis Music Hall of Fame and has
been honored by the Missouri Senate and the State of Arkansas for
his contributions to the tourism industry. He holds a record in
Arkansas of having nine days proclaimed Gene Williams Day by six
governors including three times by former President Bill Clinton and
this year by Gov. Mike Huckabee.
Lynn has received the Branson Entertainment Awards Best Support
Vocalist twice for her work in the "Mickey Gilley Show." She
performs solos each week with the Country Junction Band.
